The more like MORE, the better.

While Acta was my first outliner (and you always have a soft spot in your heart for your first), MORE was the best outliner for my purposes. So, if there were preferences that would provide for using tab and shift-tab instead of command-] and command-[, I'd appreciate it. (Maybe it's because I'm left-handed and the Acta keystrokes are designed for right-handed folks.)

There might be a few more UI requests but, frankly, I'm smiling from ear to ear. It's kinda like running into that old girlfriend...

Thanks. I was wondering when someone would get around to this. :D

Just read the Opal Help file and it mentions adding keyboard equivalents via the Keyboard & Mouse System Preference. However, it's impossible to add a "tab" for a command key equivalent as pressing it simply moves you out of that field. So this will have to be something in Opal's prefs (if David is going to support this option; hint wink, say-no-more...).

Tab's going to be problematic, since it's the basic way to move between columns (which are an extremely likely future direction...

Booo!  (to the title anyway  :-)

The more like Acta the better!

Or as I've been saying:

Add whatever you like as long as:

1. The release date is not delayed
2. The basic product remains as simple as possible
and 3.  Basic operation remains the same as it is now, i.e. Acta-like

David,  if you change it from Acta-like I am NOT going to come out to Seattle and take you to dinner!

That's my main goal, Jim. It needs to be a good Mac OS X citizen, which may mean some variations from how Acta worked (it was a good Mac citizen when released in 1986).

The to-do list for version 1.0 is pretty short right now. Keep filing feature requests for the next release, and if you find any bugs, file those so 1.0 can get out sooner. (That may sound like a paradox, but that would increase my confidence tha there aren't hidden bugs.)
