I find the highlighting of a selected topic to be somewhat disconcerting visually.

Is it possible to have the preference checkbox for outlining the selected topic alternate between full highlighting (not checked) vs. just outlined (checked)?

Or, there is always adding another option...

Outlining the selection doesn't seem like a good idea, as it would sort of conflict with the outline of the current topic.

Selection shows the topic text to indicate that commands will apply to that text (e.g. you could pretzel-click a couple topic triangles and then choose Bold).

Is this what you were talking about?

I was being a bit imprecise.  I was specifically referring to hilighting of topics.  I think that outlining the topic selected, without the highlighting, would improve things visually.

Since I argued the reverse early on - don't lose the way it is now!  :-)

Options are always OK, of course.
