Split topic functionality

Sometimes I will write a paragraph and only then realize that I want to order the sentences in outline form. (This also happens when I paste in material from elsewhere.)

Therefore, I would like to be able to split topics, maybe like this:

1. Place cursor where topic should be split

2. Type Shift-Return (say)

3. Text after the cursor goes into new topic at same level and below the old topic, where text before the cursor remains.

4. Shift-Return at ^ or $ just acts like return; new empty topic created.

I'm pretty sure what you're asking for is already present. The modifier is Option. While the Topic menu is dropped down from the menu bar, hold the Option key to see the variant commands. (These are hidden so as not to clutter the topic menu, and because I think they're used rarely.)

Note that if you choose Help > Opal Help, and then search for "split" you'll find this too.

(I'm not sure what ^ and $ are, is this a regexp or weird editor command?)
