Frequently Asked Questions

Two requests

1. Case sensitive option for Find.  Most text related applications are provided with this option in the Find dialog, but Opal is not.  Why ?

2. Print dialog provided with line space option, e.g. single, 1.5, and double.  As a draft generating tool, wider line spacing may be preferred in a printed state.

Re draft linespacing, good idea.  I'm always having to tweak the linespacing before printing, regardless what app I'm using, and then trying to remember not to save it in that state.

I almost never find case sensitive search useful, but it should be easy to add.

The Print dialog already has radio buttons that let you adjust the spacing between topics. Are you asking for a feature that adds space between lines of text within each topic?

Case sensitive search is useful when handling scientific document in which upper case characters are used for variables, constants, etc.  Variable "A" should be distinct from the indefinite article "a".
Honestly, I want further options related to style/attribute search as well as the support of regular expression.
If Opal uses NSTextView, it will be appreciated if you consider incorporating OgreKit into Opal, a free regular expression framework for Cocoa.

With respect to your question about line spacing, the answer is YES.  I often read a draft in the printed state and make an addition, correction, etc. by handwriting.
