I was reading about how Microsoft put simple calculation into their OneNote 2007 product. Type a simple formula (like 125/6) and evaluate it to get the answer in your notes. Sounded like a cool feature.
Then I realized that this is already possible. Type the formula, select it, then press command+8. The formula's replaced by its value (20.833333333333 in this case). This actually works via Services. Opal > Services > Script Editor > Get Result of AppleScript has the keyboard equivalent command+8. If you want a record of your calculation, you'll want to copy the formula, type '=' then command+V to paste it back in: 125/6= 20.833333333333. |
